The wedding

I was at a wedding last Saturday. One of the bridesmaids was the life and soul of the party. She was a nine year old with profound learning difficulties, self harming and suicidal, when she finally escaped the school system 14 years ago, having been abused by a fellow pupil (and not believed).

She may not be reading law at Oxbridge, but she is a credit to her mum and to home education. She can also Zumba with the best of them. :clap2::clap2::clap2:

It's nearly a year since I posted this thread and today I met up with that same young lady and her mum in Dundee.

Every time I see her she gushes with enthusiasm, yet never fails to remember what might have been had she not been withdrawn from school. I seem to trigger that memory in her as (along with many others) I was there while the family were threatened with all sorts by a bullying LA.

This particular story has a happy ending 15 years later, but how many don't?
