Hostile and non engaging parents and carers training

I was quite excited to find a free training opportunity being run by Perth & Kinross Council billed on their website as HOSTILE AND NON ENGAGING PARENTS AND CARERS TRAINING.

Could it be that all the criticisms levelled at this particular council for its many misdemeanours (including the non-consensual trawling and sharing of parents' and children's sensitive personal data (8.30mins), that highly controversial E2S school survey questioning pupils about drug taking, anal sex and suicidal thoughts, and these Seattle Supernannies) have struck a chord? Are we hostile and non engaging parents finally being offered training - at taxpayers' expense - to hone our non-engagement and disguised compliance skills?

Dream on! Its target audience is "multi agency" and "voluntary organisations" and it is we "non engagers" who have been identified as the pesky protruding nails that need to be hammered into the coffin containing the remains of parents' and children's civil liberties and human rights. This particular training is designed to equip 'professionals' with techniques in the use of state-issued sledgehammers to ensure the final nails are firmly embedded. They can expect some badly bruised thumbs and had better watch out for splinters.

So who wants to go along (if we can get past the security questions)? We are paying for it, after all, and I have a fit for purpose FUCK OFF T shirt freshly laundered (following a red wine incident). Failing our acceptance as delegates, we could offer our services as (fully engaged) hostile 'case studies'. :laser:

Some of our members may already be experiencing a sense of déjà vu and may recall that this event so incensed us (and others) back in May 2012

Working with Highly Resistant Parents – Practical strategies to tackle obstructive behaviour and disguised compliance

that we held our own online conference here on our forums and on Facebook on the very same day, then published our own conference report

Dealing with Highly Intrusive Parasitic Public Servants

We should perhaps ask for a copy of the training materials, details of the jobsworth(s) delivering it, how much it is costing us, and the delegate list (so we know who NOT to engage with in the future).

Should we also consider holding another 'refresher' conference of our own? How about...

RESISTANCE TRAINING FOR PARENTS AND CARERS

TARGET AUDIENCE:
• PARENTS / CARERS
• CHILDREN / YOUNG PEOPLE

AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
To refresh our 'resistance toolkit', enabling parents and carers to deal effectively with parasitic public servants and the rise of the multi-agency gang culture.

To consider helpful strategies for managing and responding to:

  • Useful idiocy / acting ultra vires beyond lawful remit
  • False claims / misrepresentation / misplaced self importance
  • Consistent failure to understand the meaning of the word "NO" and/or perceive the nature of their problems
  • Data theft and 'grooming'
  • Interference disguised as support
  • Overtly hostile/threatening/malicious behaviour
  • ***NEW*** Multi-agency gang culture / prejudiced groupthink

To focus on how such behaviours impact on the wellbeing, safety and security (including data security) of

  • Every child / young person
  • Every parent / carer
  • Privacy / civil liberties / the public interest

Apparently this course has been cancelled.

Maybe they want to focus on building respectful relationships with parents? Watch out for the flying pigs.

Or could it be that journalists were asking questions about the course content and who was running it?
