Sounds insignificant but it isn't...

The distinction must be made between boredom when you have the freedom to do what you want (something schooled children seem to complain of during the holidays, according to the media)...

And the mind-numbing,soul-destroying boredom of being encarcerated, against ones will, and forced to engage (at least on the surface)in meaningless tasks over which you have little or no control.

In prison you are at least meant to have done something to deserve this withdrawal of liberty.


Good to point out the difference.
When hearing "I'm bored" I took up saying "Enjoy" To good effect.
